yes! not enough people are saying this. not every one needs a 2nd IG for their photos or creative projects. i'm just as guilty but this quote really hit: "Our algorithms feed us endless images of people doing creative things, creating a hyperreal version of an ever-competitive creative landscape that we feel falsely close to (and thus comparable to). In an economy of relevance that leaves us fearing being left behind, we’re no longer able to engage in creative pursuits purely for pleasure. Instead, we must perform to earn and maintain our place in culture. "
This line was powerful and I would love more about "A portfolio is not a substitute for a community." I would* add an economic infrastructure POV in the sense we see an economic shift within the creator economy. The 9-5 vs. 5-9 or really 24/7.... the information we are getting about individuals being paid up to 5-6 figures for a single post rather than working 40 hours a week for an annual salary for the same amount... I could even add the post "hustle" "girl boss" era has become a "necessity" for people to afford lifestyles that didn't exist 1-3 years ago. There are so many details I could go into and maybe post the hypothesis that being creative is longer a tool of resistance, but a tool of survival- so then how does that shape the "creativity" we consume? Therefore community is broken down ... imagine the visualization of crabs in barrel etc.

Completely agree, you hit the nail with this one

Maybe this is the grand solution to consumption as self-expression.
Wonderfully, and powerfully stated.
Yes! Also see art and creativity which has the primary intention of creating this real life connection.
